Why Free State Drivers?

You may ask yourself how does one come up with a name like Free State Drivers for a forestry and computer consulting company? While it is true the name is odd for this type of organization, it makes sense when you understand I chose Free State Drivers in honor of my father whose profession was computers for more than 25 years. Through this time he would receive mailings and fliers that asked for information he was not interested in disclosing simply to get free information or subscriptions. So he decided to “make up” a company. My family lived on Free State Drive. So my father decided that would be a good name for his “company”. He enjoyed the fact that drivers were also a reference to computer drivers that operate the many devices in and connected to a computer. Over the years it just stuck.

On November 26, 2006, I started my own consulting company based in Missoula, Montana, to fill a need in the industry for the talent, skill, and experience that I can offer. When the time came for me to sign on the dotted line I needed a name for my company. Free State Drivers was available and is now up and running.
